While Jonathan's shots of the new 370Z were seductively cryptic, these newest images from Car do more to confuse than enlighten. Car was attending a presentation by Nissan design chief Shiro Nakamura, and with their camera phone at the ready, snapped off a few shots of Infiniti's upcoming small sports car that looks more like Han Solo in carbonite than a swoopy coupe.
The Infiniti two-door is expected to debut sometime later this year in concept form, and is poised to take on the BMW 1-series in the compact coupe segment. The shape, even in the grainy pic, is decidedly different from anything else in its class, with a long hood and a cab-backward design that has plenty of potential.
Car also grabbed a shot of the Nissan 370Z, which appears to get some seriously styled wheel arches and a steeply raked windshield. But according to the Brit buff book's sources, the new Z will take several cues from the GT-R when it's unveiled later this year at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

the new 1 series is a very nice vehicle. I managed to see one yesterday on the road. From this photo, its clear that it will be similar to the 1 series with a long hood and short trunk.

I don't see them reviving the VQ30, it's last year was in 2002. I don't even see them having a V-6 in the car. Perhaps a revised version(and hopefully turbo'd) of the QR25 out of the sentra. While I'd love to see them come out with a new SR motor, I jjust don't see that either.
A turbo'd QR from the factory would be greeat 250-280hp, rwd, lightweight...yes please

well in Japan they have the VQ2.5L HR V-6 and that would be awesome,
and with the gas at $4 it might be a good idea to add that engine to the G35 and lower the price by about $2k ala the 328 & 335
of course that would mean a g37 with 350HP to go directly against the 335i

exactly what I thought.. looks like a BMW Z3 or BMW Z3 M Roadster.. but not like a 1 series.
BMW has a huge fan base for their small cars outside the USA.. first in the 3series Compact from the early 90´s to the 1series since 2005... BMW has already sold over half a million 1series by the end of 2007.. till Infinty shows up witth their "1 series fighter" BMW has passed most likely the one million mark with the 1series... so nothing to worry about for BMW...
